In large cities of Russia, the annual growth rates of solid household waste are 3-4%. The market of solid domestic waste processing in Russia is practically undeveloped in general, as evidenced by the extremely inefficient system of handling solid waste in the country:
• Landfilling in landfills / landfills - 90-92% of solid waste (36-37 million tons per year), incineration - no more than 1.8% of solid waste (~ 700 thousand tons per year), industrial processing - 3-4% of solid waste (1.2- 1.6 million tons per year).
• Absence of a separate garbage collection system.
• High costs for the collection and processing of consumer waste (infrastructure, labor-intensive sorting, significant energy consumption, impurities).
Low competitiveness. High supply of Russian industry with raw materials.
• Garbage dumps are considered the most economical way to get rid of waste.
• Illegal landfills.
